It seems a few referrals are being made without medicals having been completed for families willing to proceed in that fashion. The babies involved are too young for medicals, which typically happen after 6 weeks of age, and frequently closer to two or three months. The older the child the more reliable the results.
This brings to mind a new concern for families already with children. With the wait to travel so long already, and now this additional hurtle to wait for...when is the right moment to make THE announcement? In pregnancy, most people wait until the critical 3 months have passed. And is it easier to endure the wait alone, or at least put it out of your mind?

If I were to do it again I would celebrate every last moment of the wait, because in retrospect time passes so fast and it all seems too short now!
ReplyDeleteYes, it brings new meaning to the phrase "bitter sweet". We are making sure to enjoy every day with our boys and spend lots of time with them while at the same time anxious to have our addition home too!
