I've been blissfully distracted from ponderings of our pending adoption by our renovation. However, there is change in the air of international adoption. There have been reports published by respected authorities in the recent months that are causing waves, changes, re-considerations and delays. The recent devastation in Haiti has put a real spotlight on the definition of orphan and the process of adoption. I have to hope, believe, that the final outcome will be a positive one for all involved in international adoption. My fear is for the children and families caught in between the now and then, as separate organizations, countries, agencies and families lobby for what they believe.
