It was a wonderful weekend! I had opportunity for lots of discussion with Agency staff and volunteers. We were a core group...the weather wasn't ideal on the actual picnic day...but several families were either camping in the area or staying nearby and had already made the trip. So together we enjoyed a perfect bonfire Sat evening and a somewhat cooler, but thankfully, rain-free, picnic on Sunday. The kids were mainly in two age-groups. The 6-8ish older siblings and the 3 and under crowd from various parts of Vietnam two of whom had arrived only in the last few months.
The biggest and best news was confirmation of a trip to Vietnam by the Director of our Agency. She will be there and back before the next quarterly newsletter. This should provide a whole new insight into how things may progress over the next few months. So for that I am very happy and thankful. Now to focus on enjoying June and preparations for the summer!
