We received news from D. that the 'changes' requested by the DA have not yet been accomplished. It will be necessary for the vice director of the orphanage to travel to HCMC to request the changes. It is not thought that this will be a problem, just a bit of a logistical issue and rather time consuming (it will take her pretty much a whole day to travel to HCMC and back). We are in limbo until they are able to organize this, and there is no way to say when it will happen. The director is known for her expediousness, so I am optimistic it will all be done as quickly as possible, now that Tet is winding down.
In the meantime I have started re-visiting past travel blogs to glean information. If you have a favourite you found useful please pass it on. I have also ordered 2 Vietnam travel books through Chapters.ca (cheaper than buying in the store!?)
Our family is also undergoing another major transition...Friday was my husband's last day of work and he will be starting a new job the first week of March. This has brought with it a number of associated logistical issues that have been a diversion as well as a stressor. Nevertheless he will have more time at home and with the kids, so it will be worth it in the end.
